Rahm Emanuel said to “never let a serious crisis go to waste.” And our politicians, ever on the lookout for reasons to expand their power and spend our hard-earned money, are complying. But so are the hordes of social media fitness gurus.
Anyone can set up an Instagram or Twitter account and declare themselves a fitness master.
These days it’s so easy to fake pictures that the twit-fit gurus don’t even have to be in shape themselves. They can doctor up a few pics then start pushing their fitness programs on you.
And some of these folks aren’t above trying to play on our insecurities to make a buck. One twit-fit guru on Twitter claims that women won’t pay attention to men who don’t have six-pack abs.
So, of course, you should buy his ultra-super-secret lose fat and pack on slabs of muscle program.
And there’s nary a warning of the negative impact dropping your body fat to a low level can have on your health. Because, you know, the women love the six-pack, man.
Lucky for us, our current state of affairs in the U.S. has opened up a whole new market to these fitness frauds.
At home workouts.
And like flies to a pile of dog doo, these folks have pounced all over it.
Kind of reminds you of politicians. They love to use a crisis to make a few smackers for themselves and their cronies. Heck, might as well attack a political opponent while we’re at it.
Never let a serious crisis go to waste.
And the twit-fit gurus are obliging. They’re taking full advantage of the opportunity to push crap fitness advice. And make a buck or two while they’re at it.
Be careful who you listen to. And, like politicians, never assume they have your best interest in mind. Especially when they’re peddling nonsense to make a quick dollar
The good news is, you can take advantage of your new free time.
